Principles of Choreography

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth..."  As Creator, our God is the Master Choreographer.  This study reveals the elements of design, contrast, organization and the beauty of expressed truth necessary for creating dances.  Each session builds upon the previous session, stressing the HOW TO-WHY TO aspect of the choreographic process.

Video 1: Choreographing for Your Congregation

Dancers are worship leaders!  Utilizing four simple principles, learn HOW TO lead your congregation in expressive movement.  Three congregational choreographies are included.

Video 2: Compositional Devices

God had a design when He created the world.  Taking principles from the creation story, this session illustrates HOW TO develop a minimal amount of movement vocabulary and its variations  to create a dance sequence.

Videos 3 and 4: Elements of Organizing Movement

Our discovery in this two-part session emphasizes the WHY TO of organizing the elements of dance movement and HOW TO communicate dance powerfully and effectively.
